Inspired by Place
Mountains, road trips & a lifelong love of adventure
Diane’s love of the outdoors is woven throughout her books. Born and raised in Southern California, she grew up on family camping trips that stretched from Big Sur and Death Valley to Zion.
That connection to the landscape eventually found its way into her fiction. Two of Diane’s series are set in fictional towns inspired by one of her favorite places: California’s Sierra Nevada Mountains.
Travel has been part of her story too. At sixteen, Diane spent time in Sweden as an exchange student. In college, she explored Great Britain after a week in Paris. Later, she and her husband took their little trailer on journeys through national parks including Yosemite, Yellowstone, and Pinnacles.
